My guardians, ever the strict taskmasters, have crafted a labyrinth of family rules that govern my days and nights.
On school nights, for instance, the world beyond our threshold is forbidden territory; friendships must wait until the weekend. Even then, the curfew bell tolls at nine, beckoning me home. Though rigid, these boundaries seem essential.
Homework must be conquered on time; the siren call of computer games is banned. I am the master of my own laundry, hands dipped in the soap of responsibility.
Each morning, the rooster's crow ushers in my dawn, dragging me from slumber at six. By ten, the stars witness my enforced retirement to the sanctuary of my bed.
These edicts are my pillars of health, yet the ten o'clock rule feels like a cruel joke! Do students not deserve the full nine hours of rest?
